The final trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was released today by Universal Pictures and Illumination, features Nintendo icon Mario receiving an incredible power up. On April 5, the film only opens in theaters.

The brand-new location takes us deep within Bowser's dungeon and provides glimpses of the global conflict between the Koopa and Mushroom Kingdoms. In addition, we get to see the brave plumber and his foe Donkey Kong fight their way through a platform obstacle course and more exquisitely rendered areas of the world based on video games.

Synopsis:

While working underground to fix a central pipe, Brooklyn handymen Mario (Chris Pratt; Brother Luigi (Charlie Day; Jurassic World and The LEGO Movie) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) travel down an enigmatic pipe and enter a enchanting new world. Mario, on the other hand, sets out on an epic quest to locate Luigi after the brothers are separated.

With the assistance of a resident Toad from the Mushroom Kingdom (Keegan-Michael Key; The Lion Lord) and some preparation from the solid willed leader of the Mushroom Realm, Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Bliss; The Sovereign's Ploy), Mario takes advantage of his own power.
